The 'Sweet Tooth' and Your Waistline
Johns Hopkins has looked and they think that sugary drinks are worse for you than sugar foods. They say the consumption of liquid calories is a huge issue in this country. In fact, they believe they can track the use of sugary drinks with the rise of obesity.
The American Journal of Clinical Nutrition reports that something must be done about the problem. While many of us will admit that eating a donut is a step on the wild side, we aren't so quick to see the same problem with sweet drinks. Diet drinks, so called fruit drinks, energy drinks and more are easy ways we fool ourselves into thinking we are not sugar junkies at heart. And don't even start me on those phony 'sugars.'
Here is a bottom line, take-it-home truth. Taking in processed sugar is one of the quickest ways to disease and death. Sugar changes chemistry. It fattens, hardens, inflames and just generally makes you older and sicker faster than just about anything else.
If you have a 'sweet tooth' is tells me you need more protein in your diet. If you're a carb addict, you are a sugar addict. High quality proteins and lots and lots of raw, organic living foods will give you what you need. You can be your own rawfood doctor!
